Peggy Lee's famous "We are Siamee-eeze, if you plee-eeze" from Lady And The Tramp is one of those cat songs every cat album has to have. But, as with "I Tawt I Taw A Puddy Tat", Mark couldn't figure out what to do with it - until he heard Al Stewart's classic mysterious-femme song of the Seventies, "Year Of The Cat". In the original, the year of the cat refers to a year in the Vietnamese zodiac. Mark kept it in South-East Asia but introduced a Siamese cat, even though, as pedants may point out, there is no year of the cat in the Thai calendar.
Nonetheless, there is in this version. The two songs are expertly tied together by Andy Findon's bamboo flute and some sexy backing vocals for a highly sensual tale of a enticing but mercurial Siamese...
